Assistum's new feature - an instant link to the Internet - goes straight to relevant sources of information on all the issues involved in making a decision. It acts as an inspired librarian, providing exactly the right reference at the right time.
If, for instance, your decision requires you to consider the impact of new tax laws on your business, Assistum will flag up the relevant area of the Inland Revenue site for direct and up-to-the-minute information to feed into your decision. Having the right information at your fingertips saves valuable time.
Assistum can now co-ordinate all the factors involved in making a decision, anytime, any place and with anyone. Faster than you can say "difficult decision", Assistum offers a route to the solution. It asks pertinent questions of the team while at the same time providing relevant information for the answers.
Influenced by Users
The Internet link is one of many enhancements in Version 3 of Assistum strongly influenced by the needs of the oil and gas industry who have chosen Assistum to share best practice in Oil Well Optimisation. (More on this in the next newsletter).
Other enhancements include automated publishing to the Internet - so that your users can consult Assistum models on the corporate Intranet. It also supports the inclusion of user notes in scenario reports so that users can print out the result of a consultation that includes their own notes on why they answered the questions the way they did. The Assistum logo, graphics and website have been redesigned to reflect the increasing confidence of our brand, the quality of our client base and to reflect the different needs of our three major categories of Assistum customer: Business Managers; Solution Providers (IS Consultants); and Desktop or Personal Users.
As we go from strength to strength, we are conscious of the need to develop a brand image and marketing strategy that does justice to Assistum's unique technological achievements. Have a look for yourself.
Assistum site licences for academic use
Cranfield University and Norwich City College have followed the lead of City University Business School (CUBS) and purchased site licences for Assistum Knowledge Editor.
The Knowledge Editor is an effective way to introduce students to the concept of storing and re-using business knowledge. It also enables them to build and share their own knowledge bases.
